How You Can Help

IMG_5546

Named after Dr. Hall Fletcher, a respected physician and community leader, a “Hall Fletcher” school has been on campus since 1925 – first as a junior high, then as a temporary high school, and back to a junior high for forty years.

The original structure was replaced in the mid-1970’s by the present-day facility which was designated a middle school. With the restructuring of the Asheville City School System in 1990, Hall Fletcher became the elementary magnet school for Math, Science, and Technology.

Today Hall Fletcher Elementary stands out among Asheville City Schools for many reasons, not the least of which is that it is the most racially diverse elementary school in the system. Aside from statistics, though, Hall Fletcher is exceptional primarily because of the positive energy from students, staff, and faculty. The “zest for life and learning” (Hall Fletcher Elementary Student Pledge) is expressed in the bright murals on the exterior and interior walls, the Jacob Lawrence-inspired artwork in the entrance, the garden area with cob oven, and other special spaces.

Continuous efforts are made by many people to enrich the lives of students and families at Hall Fletcher. The PTO is proud to be a part of these efforts toward excellence and we hope you’ll join in!
